I'm in this band and I didn't send a request to that effect.

Dan left me a message last night asking if I knew why the show had been taken down, so it wouldn't have been him. I'm also seeing the 'trouble with content' message but earlier I was seeing something about metadata.

Just spoke to Dan and he confirmed that he did not ask for us or the show to be removed from the Archive. Is there any way for it to be magically returned or would it need to be reuploaded?

Keyboardist Adam M. reportedly sent a removal request. If a rep can crosscheck between band members and send a consensus decision to the contact address etree AT this domain, that will straighten things up for the volunteer staff here. Thanks!

Reupload would not be necessary, since a simple reinstatement is possible.

EDIT- Double barrel response, Tyler's on the case! :)

On March 11, I received this e-mail which I used to set up the section:

"Hello,

I play pedal steel in the band Dan Griffin and The Regrets. I'd hereby like to give permission for our shows to be archived at Archive.org. Our website is http://www.myspace.com/dangriffinmusic

Thanks kindly,
Aaron Goldstein"

On April 7th, I received this e-mail:

"Hello,

I play keyboards with Dan Griffin and the Regrets, who were recently requested and granted permission to be posted under the Live Music Archive. Our band website is www.myspace.com/dangriffinmusic. I would like to request the removal of our band from your archives. No shows are posted in our folder.

Sincerely
Adam Melnick"

so I removed the one show in the band section and darkened the band section.

Not sure what instrument Dan plays, but maybe it's all a mis-communication from Adam's e-mail? I'll 'undo' the removal, and both the one show and the band section with all it's content should show up / be back soon.

Sorry for the trouble!

We have cleared up the confusion.

The band wants to stay and has been set back up to it's original state. The issue should now be resolved.

Here we go again... One band member tells somebody they can upload his music. somebody else demands that it be pulled from this archive. Sounds familiar, doesn't it.

I'm reminded again of that Grateful Dead incident and the public relations melt down that followed the war between the boys.

Weir, Hart, Keutzmann, Koons vs. Lesh, Barlow, Hunter...
